Cologne hosts Gay Games VIII in 2010

At the Federation of Gay Games Annual Meeting in Chicago, Cologne was awarded the right to host Gay Games VIII in 2010. Competing bids were from Paris and Johannesburg.

In discussion with the Cologne representatives, GLORY congratulated them on their winnning bid but asked what the options were to include sailing as one of the additional sports which are not finalised in their bid document.

GLORY has been asked to provide them with options for hosting sailing in the Cologne region and to conduct a site visit. GLORY has suggsted there are flexible options to include sailing, such as using dinghies instead of keelboats and also using single and multi-crewed boats from one-design classes that can be chartered locally but are also available worldwide.
